ABOUT THE SHOW

The next time someone clever tells you something you secretly hope to hear, beware. In the world of our Macbeth, we find ourselves in a Scotland of the possible near future -- a war-torn land that emerges after the collapse of the European Union and the United Kingdom. The new nationalism is fractured by warlords who play politics through mortal combat. New information technology, once the great hope of unity, is corrupted and suspect. In this new world order, our chaotic Witches appear, deft at stealing and controlling information, understanding our secret desires, and how to use them against us through half-truths and mystic equivocations. New methods stir ancient patterns of conquest and greed. Shakespeare's classic dark tale of corrupting violence and power feels alarmingly fresh today. Join the students at Dibden Center for the Arts for an intimate show full of blood, betrayal, and revenge. Audience warnings: flashing lights, stage violence, and blood. Lots of blood.
