ABOUT THE SHOW

Lincoln Center performing artist and beloved Phantom performer, Miranda Henne is equally at home playing Bach as bluegrass. In this, her fifth appearance in the Barn, she brings together an unprecedented quartet who will be merging distinct musical traditions in unique arrangements.

The ensemble features bluegrass banjo master Dr. Greg Liszt from the band Crooked Still, renowned tabla virtuoso Upasak Mukherjee, jazz/bluegrass/Americana fiddle icon Darol Anger, and Henne, a classically-trained cellist. They will be creating a sonic palette that spans continents and centuries.

“These four instruments together create a sound that is simultaneously ancient and contemporary, familiar and revolutionary,” says Henne.

Their program will include reimagined Western classical masterpieces, Indian classical compositions, British pop classics including Beatles songs, traditional American fiddle tunes, bluegrass standards, and original compositions written by the quartet during their ten-day residency at Phantom Theater and inspired by the natural beauty of the area and the theater's unique artistic environment.
